Ted & Clara Gentry Memorial Scholarship

The Ted and Clara Gentry Scholarship was established in 1984 by Trust Agreement from the Estate of Theodore Marion Gentry. Ted “Doc” Gentry owned and operated Arkansas Meter, a water distribution and wastewater collection supply company, located in Cabot Arkansas. Donations to the scholarship are encouraged and made annually in memory of the Gentrys. A total of eight scholarships are awarded annually.

Number of scholarships awarded: 8

Scholarship amount: $2,000 per recipient

Eligibility: A worthy dependent of someone employed by an Arkansas public/private waterworks or sewerage utility. Must meet the definition of a dependent as defined by the IRS. Previous scholarship recipients are not eligible.

Awarded: Winners will be notified prior to the 2025 Arkansas Water Conference. Scholarship checks will be sent to the recipient once required documentation is received, but not prior to July 1, 2025.

Deadline: The application will close on Friday, February 28, 2025.
